1. Information We Collect

When you use Parchemin Academy, we collect:

  • Account data: Name, email address, password (hashed), and subscription status.
  • Learning data: Course progress, quiz scores, lesson completions, and badge/certificate records.
  • AI Career Hub data: Resume inputs, LinkedIn profile text you submit, and mock interview sessions. This content is processed by Anthropic's Claude AI.
  • Payment data: Billing details are handled entirely by Stripe. We never store your card number.
  • Technical data: IP address, browser type, and session tokens for authentication and security.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and personalize your learning experience.
  • To process payments and manage your subscription.
  • To generate AI-powered career tools (resume, LinkedIn, interview feedback).
  • To track your progress and issue certificates.
  • To improve the Platform and fix bugs.
  • To send you transactional emails (receipts, account alerts). We do not send marketing emails without your consent.

3. Third-Party Services

We use the following trusted third-party services:

  • Anthropic Claude AI — powers the AI tutor, Career Hub tools, and course generation. Your inputs are sent to Anthropic for processing in accordance with Anthropic's Privacy Policy.
  • Stripe — handles all payment processing. Your payment data is governed by Stripe's Privacy Policy.
  • HeyGen — generates AI video lessons. Lesson scripts are sent to HeyGen for video production.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Career Hub submissions (resumes, LinkedIn analyses, interview sessions) are retained to let you view past results; you may request deletion at any time. Upon account deletion, your personal data is removed within 30 days except where retention is required by law.

5. Your Rights (GDPR / PIPEDA)

You have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data.
  • Data portability (export of your learning history).
  • Object to processing for marketing purposes.

6. Cookies

We use a single language preference cookie (parch_lang) to remember your EN/FR setting. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

7. Security

Passwords are hashed with bcrypt. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. We employ role-based access controls and regular security reviews. In the event of a breach affecting your data, we will notify you within 72 hours as required by applicable law.

8. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has registered, contact us immediately.
